Calm Kids - An Essential Oil Blend
Update with testimonial from Kim - "Just wanted to let you know how excited I am. Conner has been using the blend for about a week now. He is doing awesome with it. He got a shine award at school."! Conner has Aspergers and ADHD. Just wanted to share this great news from Kim and Conner.
I wanted to do a post on this Essential Oil blend that helps other children the way that it has helped mine. I wanted to share with you the success that I have had with my children and how it has enhanced their lives, the way they treat each other and their ability in school.
There are so many children and adults out there suffering daily from ADD, ADHD, OCD, Aspergers, Autism and more....
When I first used this blend it was on my daughter who has Asperger's and my son who has ADHD. They struggled daily and we had a really hard time dealing with many different aspects of this. As hard as it is for a parent it is even harder for our children. This blend can help both the parent and the child.
I was so excited to try something that could help both of them. I applied the roll on to their feet every morning and night. I could not believe the difference. The first thing I noticed was my son wasn't bouncing off the walls and all over the place and then the biggie was how he started doing better in school. His reading improved dramatically and he wasn't getting in trouble as much. He is concentrating and focusing better than he ever has.
The next thing I noticed was that my daughter wasn't throwing as many tantrums and we could get her to go to school. The mood swings were less dramatic, fewer and farther between and she slept better. She has always had a hard time sleeping. She wasn't depressed and crying. I was becoming a strong believers in these oils and their ability. I was one grateful mommy.
My other daughter in 4th grade has OCD. She pushes herself so hard, it is very difficult for her to not stress about the little things. Everything has to be a certain way...a child that age should not have to be so worried about things. This blend has helped her deal with life so much better. She is happier and not so hard on herself and so stressed at her young age.
The kids get along better than they ever have. For a parent, that is priceless. I can help my children without having to put them on medication. I realize that some may have to but this is an alternative worth trying and it worked for us.
I love this picture. Look how completely focused and absorbed she is. Just a kid with no worries. This is how I want my children to be.

The oils in this blend are known to help with emotional trauma, fear, stress, anxiety and behavior orders.

You can get it through Amazon right now if you are looking for one. It changes 6 different colors and will shut itself off. This one is my favorite by far and the kids love it.

Wow Dori, you have had your hands full. So glad you've found relief for those precious children. I care for my 3yo granddaughter 5 days a week. She already wants things perfect. Is smart as a whip. And throws a lot of fits. Wondering if it could benefit her being so young and that is part of the way that age acts? Blessings, Terri C
ReplyDeleteTerri,oh the three year olds! When I had a three year old I also had a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I don't know how I did it. I wish I knew about these oils when they were little. I am so glad though that I have it for them now that they are in school.
ReplyDeleteI have a six year old daughter with ADHD that I refuse to medicate so I feel your pain. I have tried caffeine, synaptol, a chewable tablet called on task naturally. And many more, there is even a liquid vitamin called calm child as well I got from my health food store. I have a lot of these oils because I am a big believer in natural remedies, I even blog about natural acne remedies. I believe I already have a majority of these oils listed and I cannot wait to give this a try! I promise to report back with the results, it is lonely out there with no comments :)
ReplyDeleteI was also going to ask how you found this recipe? I have researched for hours upon hours and never found anything regarding essential oils. I would love to know your source if you wouldn't mind sharing.
DeleteHeather, that is wonderful you have the oils to make this. Let me know if you have any questions. Please let me know your results. My son with ADHD is 7 so I know. Nothing has worked until now. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHeather, my sister found a recipe and added the Lavender to it to make this blend which she shared with me. Hope you enjoy it. It is a wonderful blend.
DeleteSorry I replied to myself earlier, lol, I didn't realize till after I posted. You know it never occurred to me to blend oils to try and help, I always focused on food and vitamins. Your sister is on to something with this line of thinking. I'm going to share your link on my mommies group, I think they would like to give it a try as well. Thanks again!
Deletei have a child with adhd and would rather not put him on medication because of the horriable side effects that it has on kids/people. I really want to try this recipe out on my children. I have liked your page and reposted your blog hoping to win your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLiked and Shared, Dori. I'm also emailing this to a friend who's son suffers with Asperger's. Thanks for all you do. :)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to try this with my son...I think it would greatly benefit him, more so than medications.
ReplyDeleteLike and shared. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
ReplyDeleteHi, Dori. Thank you for the chance to try this. {I liked and shared on FB} Blessings, Lisa lisagaska at hotmail.com.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many of you that sound like you need this! I wish I could give everyone of you this!
ReplyDeleteThis article on essential oils is very interesting. I did the like & share on facebook. Thanks for this giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLiked and shared! Would LOVE to try this blend on my son!
ReplyDeleteLike and shared the post! Would love to try this on my son who was recently diagnosed with Asperger's
ReplyDeleteHave you tried In Tune? And if so does this work better? I have my son on intune for his ADD and it seems to work. I would like to try this if I won it to compair. I'll like and Share this.
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I have In Tune as well. I like the Calm Kids better because of the different oils that are in it. I think the Lavender makes a difference along with the Vetiver. I am a huge believer in Vetiver.
ReplyDeleteIs this same as Peaceful child? I would love to try.
ReplyDeleteThis has 30 drops of Lavender in it and I believe the original Peaceful Child Blend does not have Lavender. Lavender is a must for my child! Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDori,
ReplyDeleteI was referred to your site by Camp Wander. In need of a little help. My son is 9 years old. His principle called yesterday at my job and brought to my attention he received detention due to pushing a child. Upon further explanation it seems another student was pushing him then started to kick him. So in turn he pushed back. The principle then tells me that My son Jesse is taller than the other child. I do not condone my child pushing smaller children but the size of the other student makes little difference to the pain they inflicted upon my son.
Then she breaks off stating maybe I should have my son medicated due to lack of focus in class. Saying it would really help! I have taken him to the doctor b/4 and the doctor said he is a young boy. I don't really see the lack of focus.. yes a little day dreaming looking out the window through out home work but is that cause for medication.
So stressed. Crying on the phone with his principle def. didn't help.
I see amazing thing going on with essential oils.
Is your give still going on?
If not should I email you?
So sorry for the rant.. I am just emotionally exhausted at this point!
Olivia
I have a similar issue with my 6 year old. He is not generally violent, but has been involved in a few altercations at school. I also don't condone his behavior, but when you are a 6 yr old boy it is tough to navigate those waters. He is a very active little guy and has trouble sitting still for long, so I think he would benefit from some oils to help him focus and be calm.
DeleteOlivia and Jayme, I know exactly what you are feeling. If it were me I would give the oil a try. Is has done so much for my son and I finally got the ok from the school for him to bring with him and use as he feels he needs it. He puts it on his feel with socks so there isn't a strong smell of oils. Since it is all natural they had no problem with it. I am still selling the blends so you could try the smaller one and see. Don't give up! You will get through this. Fight for him because it is so easy for them to just say put him on meds but i haven't had to go that route and although some do it is worth a try. Boys are boys and they are active, add ADHD and watch out! Love my little guy and so proud of him. You can email me anytime to talk or asks questions at richestoragsbydori@gmail.com It is nice to have someone that is going through the same thing. I hope soon to have a forum on the blog.
DeleteI am now an official follower of your blog and Twitter!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your response about the give away and even if I am not lucky...it seem you will sell a blend.
How Wonderful!!!!
O~
Wonderful! I know that if I were to win I would give to one of the parent's of one of my CASA kids. He's a 3 yr old with extreme ADD.
ReplyDeleteHi Dori,
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of your and your sisters' blogs...love all the EO information. I wanted to ask if there would be any counter-productive side effects if you use this blend with a child who has none of these symptoms. I have an almost 3 year-old but he's always had a hard time sleeping. I've also noticed some anxiety patterns, he likes to pick at his lips and he seems to have a hard time calming down for bedtime. I was wondering if this would help him or me, since I also have problems sleeping and with anxiety.
Thanks!
Lorena, if it were me I would start with Lavender, it is such a wonderful calming blend that helps with sleeping. It would be great if you could Diffuse it in his room. If not just put a couple of drops on his feet before bed. It it wonderful! I would try that first.
ReplyDeleteWant to give this a try but am confused by the mention of the 5 oils blended together, but there are actually ????
ReplyDeleteThere are actually six oils blended together with Coconut oil. It comes in a roller glass bottle for easy application on the feet or other areas. Thanks
ReplyDeleteWow...I wish I had this blend. I have 3 boys all with their own uniqueness that comes with an array of challenges. My first (12y) has OCD anxieties, stimming, and so many other issues that are non specific for a formal diagnosis, my second (8y) has autism, and my third (3y) has allergies that give way to asthma during flare ups. I homeschool them which has been a huge blessing. I need help with their individual needs, but mostly....nighttime. OMGeeee....wild monkeys!! They have a hard time settling down. We have a whole night routine that helps, but we could use a little more help. Any suggestions? I am so new to essential oils, and I am excited to start using them in ways other than cleaning. Thank you for the info on the ingredients. I will definitely save up for this.
ReplyDeleteKelly, what I do at night time is I have a diffuser in each of the kids room. I start to diffuse Lavender in the evening. I keep it going when they go to sleep and they sleep so good. This blend is very helpful for my son who has a terrible time settling down. Between this and the diffuser it helps him go to sleep and sleep well.
DeleteI hope I liked and shared the right way, I am not an expert at entering these drawings but I am doing my research and looking at options for my DD who has ADHD. I don't want to medicate her and even homeschool her in part to keep her off medications but as she gets older it is getting harder to work around her outbursts and energy in the loving and productive way I would like to. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with others!
ReplyDeleteJen,
DeleteI don't want to medicate my son either and haven't had to. This blend is working really well for my daughter and she is doing really good. She still has her moments but without saying anything I start to diffuse and put the blend on her feet. Within a few minutes she will start to calm down.
I liked and shared.
ReplyDeleteI am just wondering how this blend would work for children already on medication? Would it help to be able to get them off of their meds?
ReplyDeleteDori,
ReplyDeleteWould like to know if this is safe for 3 year old. Could you please give me some application instructions. HOw often and how much should be placed on the bottoms of their feet. I have a three year old grandson who has always had sleeping difficulties. I am gong to give this information to my daughter to see if she is willing to try if but I want as much information as possbile. And does it help adults. I myself suffer with sleeping. What ages it is helpful. I want to order the diffuser for myself but am thinking of orderine one for his room as well. If you have more information or could lead me in the direction I would greatly appreciate it as I truly believe in natural instead of meds but never know which sites to trust and believe as there are some bad ones.. Thanks in advance for the help.....
Thank you for your comments and for asking for more information. The wonderful thing about these oils is that any age can use it. Babies and small children can dilute the essential oils with an equal amount of carrier oil (coconut oil). Adult and children can use them and their benefits are priceless. Lavender is wonderful to help you sleep. I diffuse Lavender in everyone's room at night. I apply it to their feet with the glass roller morning and night. Please let me know if you have any further questions. If you want to you can also email me at richestoragsbydori@gmail.com. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great blend. I have an 8yr old boy that was recently diagnosed with ADHD and has been getting into a lot of trouble at school. They now have him labled as a trouble student which makes it hard on him every day. He now hates school and does not want to get up in the morning because of the Principal, teachers and students picking on him on a daily basis. My question for you is how long does the oil last? Of course the doctor wanting to put him on medication and I said no; but I do need something that will help him out! Please HELP!!!!
ReplyDeletePlease check out the other post on Jeddy's Blend that I created after this that is showing wonderful results for severe ADHD.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.richestoragsbydori.blogspot.com/2013/03/jeddys-blend-essential-oils-for-adhd.html
Does this go into a 1/3 ounce roller bottle with the amounts of oils listed? Thanks in advance for your response.
ReplyDeleteDori-
ReplyDeleteI've been using Jeddy's blend with some success, but I found this blend of yours and am curious. Can I use them both??
